Sampler

Record any sound and play it on the keys
Press the red button and make a sound: sing a note, whistle, clap, beatbox, tap a glass, say a wordโ€ฆ then press it again to stop. It uses the computer's microphone.
๐ŸŽท Make an instrument from your sax, clarinet, whistle, your voiceโ€ฆ Keylab records its notes and you play them on the keys.
Its notes

Press Record, then play one note at a time, going up from your instrument's lowest note to its highest, about three notes apart (C, Eโ™ญ, Fโ™ฏ, A, Cโ€ฆ). Hold each for a couple of seconds, with a short gap between. Then press Stop. For a drum, use the red button above instead: hit it a few different ways and each hit gets its own key.

Beat box

Start a groove and play along on top. Click the squares to make your own beat: once for a hit, again for a soft hit, again to clear. It shares its tempo with the arpeggiator.

Tricks

Make one key play lots of notes. These work with the synth, and with the keyboard's sounds too (turn the keyboard's own sound off under ๐ŸŽน Sounds โ†’ โš™ Keyboard options, or you'll hear the key you press as well).

One-finger chords

Each key you press plays a whole chord.

๐ŸŽธ Guitar synth

Play your guitar and Keylab plays it with its sounds, one note at a time like a lead synth: a sax solo, a violin, a theremin. Bends and vibrato come through too. Plug in as you would for Fretlab, use headphones, and pick single notes rather than chords.

Drop a .mid file here to play along with any song. Free MIDI files of most songs are easy to find online.

๐ŸŽน Play your songbook's songs

Every song with its real parts from Songsterr. Pick one and a part falls towards the keys for you to play while the rest of the band plays along: the piano, organ or synth part (๐ŸŽน) when it has one, otherwise the singer's tune (๐ŸŽค). Choose any other part to play on the song's page.

Play along with your Fretlab songs

Grab your guitar: the band plays the song while you play the chords. Songs with real parts play every instrument note for note from the song's Songsterr tab; songs with a full backing track follow the real song section by section; every other song gets a jam loop of its chords.
